Here is the New York Times story from Wednesday June 9, 1893 - His Organs Cause Trouble
Interesting to read an article from that time...It gives a description of Daniel Beatty. Here's the quote from the story -
Mr Beatty appeared very nervous and excited when in Commissioner Shield's office yesterday. He is a tall, heavily built man, with a shining bald head, and a heavy red beard which he parts in the middle. He has little twinkling bluish-gray eyes, and stammers when he tries to talk fast. His black frock coat looked shiny yesterday, and his general appearance was that of a man somewhat run to seed.
Did they actually say he had a shining bald head?!? LMAO! I can see why pictures are now favored in news stories to avoid lawsuits of offense. But then again Daniel Beatty probably did have a shiny bald head.
